Harel is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of management leadership in the IT industry and an extensive investment and exit record. He is one of the Co-founders of the Viola Group; one of the original Co-founders of Viola Ventures and the Founder of Viola Growth, where he serves as General Partner.
Harel serves as an active board member of several leading technology companies, where he leverages an extensive global network of partners, investors, entrepreneurs and executives to help these companies achieve their objectives and build value.
Harel is a Board Member at EX.CO, SimilarWeb, Behalf, and Cyberint, and is an Observer at Glasses USA.
As the former CEO, President & Chairman of Tecnomatix (NASDAQ: TCNO), a leading provider of Manufacturing Process Management software solutions, Harel led the company for over eight years, during which the company grew to $100 million in revenues and more than 650 employees. In 2005, he led the successful sale of Tecnomatix to UGS for $228 million.
Harel is a former Chairman of ECtel (NASDAQ: ECTX) and former Chairman of Lumenis (NASDAQ: LUME), Israel’s largest medical device company, where he led a $150 million investment and led the company’s turnaround eventually resulting in its sale to XIO Group for $510 million in June 2015.

He enjoys sailing, motorcycling, running (taken up recently), arts and antiques.
He is Chairman of the Board of the Executive Committee of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He also supports his wife’s work with a charity dedicated to creating opportunities for children at risk.
He was born on an airbase. Raised in Ramat Hasharon.
He’s inspired by David Ben Gurion (“for being the ultimate Founder”) and Alfred P. Sloan (“for being the ultimate Executive”).
